Each year, the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), Department of Maryland, Inc., sponsors an Americanism Essay Contest for students in grades 3-8. First place winners will be sent to the National Competition. The contest time frame is November 1-February 1.

Hampstead Post 200 13th Annual Car Show. Judging by registrant votes, awards for top 15 cars. Trophies for Commander's Choice, Auxiliary President's Choice and People's Choice. Registration from 9:00 AM to noon. Awards presented at 2:00 PM. $10 advanced registration, $15 day of event. Breakfast and lunch available for purchase. Vendor spaces available for $15 per table.

These banners will hang along Main Street in Hampstead from Memorial Day through 9/11 and then returned to the family.
