The American Legion
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veteran's organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.

- Hampstead War Memorial seeks to update name plaques.
The Hampstead American Legion is in the process of updating the name plaques at the War Memorial. The eligibility standards have not changed since the initial dedication in 1947. You must have lived in the 21074 zip code area prior to your wartime military service. You must have received an honorable discharge and your in-service dates must be consistent with the congressionally mandated dates of eligibility for the American Legion.
Application forms are available at the Hampstead American Legion as well as Town Hall. Once you have completed your application, please attach a copy of your DD-214 and return both papers to either the Legion Home or Town Hall. |
